life in a pandemic
Life in a pandemic has been hard. It's changed the way I learn, sleep and even think because I can't go to school, town or my friends house to socialize. I am missing out on my weekly swimming lessons and this winter there is also no league for us to play as a team. Home school is very different and hard sometimes to concentrate and stay on task as I’m used to home being where I play. I have to battle the urge to get up and play when I should be doing my school work. I have trouble going to bed early enough because it doesn’t really feel like a school night so then I sleep in too much in the morning and makes me feel tired which makes it hard to do school work too. It gets kind of boreing but I am quite lucky that my family has a big chunk of farmland so I can bike around and get some exercise. I sometimes miss my friends but it's ok because every week we have a google hangout so we can talk to each other. I am also helping out with jobs around the house like getting the mail and paper on my bike. I have also done a lot of cooking and made tea a couple of times like tuna pasta bake, baked bean quiche and last but not least a great big cheesy lasagna that lasted for two nights. So in conclusion I guess it's not all bad.

Hi Troy, it was really interesting to read your writing about life in a pandemic. It's great that you have been able to get some exercise at home and won't it be exciting when you can play sport again! Are there any other meals that you would like to learn to cook before the pandemic is over Troy?
ReplyDeleteGreat work Troy.

Well done explaining all the different things that happen for us during the Lockdown time Troy. It is really quite different, and being at home but having to think about work is tricky sometimes. I would like to get out in my garden or just sit and read a book but we have to choose to get some work done don't we! Having lots of farmland to use for bikes or walks in so good and I don't know how I would go living in a city or a small apartment.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing

Hi Troy- great to hear about your experiences at home. I can really relate to two of the things you said: 1) Having trouble concentrating and staying on task at home and 2) Late nights with sleep ins! It's great the way you've acknowledged the hard parts but also ended on a positive note. Take Care!
ReplyDeleteDear Troy,
ReplyDeleteLife is hard in lockdown. That's a great way to start with sharing your experience in a very honest way. I find that there is lots of work to do. The positives are I get to see more of all the students learning more often. Thanks for sharing you experience with us all.
